“We have a simple message for all countries: test, test, test.”
- WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
There is an urgent necessity to test as many individuals as possible using all testing mechanisms available. In dire circumstances, a certain tolerance towards false positives should be allowed. Point of care testing for maximum possible individuals followed by confirmatory testing as available will reduce the overall strain on laboratories performing COVID-19 tests. Testing for first responders, hospital staff and essential workforce should be conducted on a regular basis to ensure their health. While acknowledging differences in the American society and Asian societies a limited benefit of “physical lockdowns” has been discussed. Individuals who test “-”ve and are asymptomatic may be allowed to return to work at the condition of being tested every week, and strict practice of social distancing
