Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is slated to hold talks in Amman Thursday with his Jordanian counterpart King Abdullah II in his first visit to the kingdom since he became president in June.
Both leaders are scheduled to address "means to foster mutual ties as well as look at the latest developments and issues of mutual interests in the region," presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef and the Jordan News Agency Petra said.
Al-Sisi's visit comes ten days after Jordan's King Abdullah II visited Cairo for similar talks.
In November, al-Sisi participated in a conference call with Abdullah II, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State John Kerry to discuss the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
The pair also met in September for the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
